Default Kurzick Faction

Hey everyone,

A question. I want to buy a skill from the Kurzick Bureaucrat, but he won't let me. He says I need to be atleast rank 1 of the friends of the Kurzick title track?

How do I achieve this? I have 16.600/27.000 Kurzick faction.

Thanks in advanced...

You need 100.000 faction to reach lvl 1. You get a lot of faction in those pvp matches they hold.

The jade quarry

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Jade_Quarry

Edit: I'm not sure if you are familiar with pvp (i'm not either^^), but just throw yourself out there, you'll get many thousand faction either if you win or lose. But put in a good effort, though.

I felt really big when i spiked an elementalist there, he nearly killed me first ^^

Make sure when you are exploring "kurzick" areas that you talk to the kurzick priest just outside. You will need to pay 100 gold but you get faction for killing foes.

Another note: At gw wiki it says you get 1000 for winning a match .. i distinctly remember i got about 8.5k faction in total for a match there. So that is a bit weird.

I tried to join a battle, but the timer is just reseting and telling me there ain't no opposed party. Is there another way to make 100k kurzick faction points a tad faster?

You need to wait for a team to fill up. I had to wait a maximum of one minute. I don't know any other way than questing.

The 16,600/27,000 is not the same thing. That's just your current level of earned (unspent) Kurzick faction. To get that transfered to your Kurzick title track you need to "spend" it.
This might help - http://www.guildwiki.org/Faction_%28Kurzick%29

Basically, you need to talk to the Kurzick Bureaucrat in House Zu Heltzer, and spend you faction. If you're not in an alliance, the simplest thing to do is to buy Amber (and then skills, once you get level 1 in the title track).

So let me get this straight. First I need to make 100k kurzick faction, spent it all on 20 ambers (makes up for the 100k faction spending) and finally then I can buy my skills cause I'm rank 1 in the title track?

Yes. However, if you donate the faction to your guild (assuming your guild has a Kurzick alignment) instead of buying amber, you only need to make 50k faction. When you donate to your guild, you get double credit towards the title track.

I now have 32.000/32.000 kurzick faction, but it won't show anything over that?

You first have to turn in some of that to be able to earn more.
And it'll show up once you hit Rank 1 of the title track (Or sooner, but not before you've spent any of it)

Check under the "titles" panel. It should be on the low end of the list.

that is your unspent faction. You need to spend it to free up space so you can gain more.

Not sure if I read you right, but yes, you need to get level 1 in the title track before you can buy the skills.
You don't need to get 100k in faction all at once, though, you can do it a bit at a time, through any method open to you. Every time you buy a chunk of amber, 5000 points is added to the title track. Your 16,600 could buy 3 chunks and you would have 1600 faction still "unspent", and 15,000 added to your Kurzick title.

Also, your faction is account-wide, so once you hit at least level 1 on one character, any other character can get the kurzick or luxon skills from the appropriate bureaucrat, or from the one in your guild hall.

Drawing attention to the above post, very good catch, wanted to emphasize it.

The original post makes me suspect that dragomier is paying too much attention to the "Factions" tab of his Hero Panel, and not enough attention to the "Titles" tab.

Switch over to titles and look up and down for your "Friend of the Kurzicks" title.

Remember that the faction you *spend* is what makes your Friend of the Kurzicks title go up. This is different than the faction that you *earn* - see what I'm saying?

The most efficient way to increase Friend of the Kurzicks is to "Raise alliance faction" at the rewards guy. You basically get double "Friend of the Kurzicks" points by doing this, as opposed to the other methods of spending faction.

Just to clarify this for the OP:

Once your Kurzick title is rank 1 (Friend of the Kurzicks), you can obtain Kurzick skills for 3k faction each from the NPC IF the character you're unlocking the skill on is Lv 20.

A guildie of mine the other day had a brain blip and wondered why the heck he couldn't unlock a Kurzick skill despite having faction over from an Urgoz run and being r5 Kurzick. We pointed out the fact that he was Lv 15 at the time XD

In terms of earning points for the Kurzick title, I find doing HM Factions missions and turning in my copy of Shiro's Return when full is a great way to push the title as well as giving me a reasonable amount of gold for doing it. There's a NM version so you can fill it from your first time going through the story and a HM version which is great if you're working on guardian or want to speed up getting your faction title. The books give you points towards your title rather than spendable faction though. For that I tend to vanquish an area that's under Kurzick control. Another nice way to earn some cash
